So scaling seems to have really gone out of hand these days. I'm not talking just pvp gear related stuff, people are waltzing into BGs these days with 5500 gscore pve gear and laying waste to others with a few shots. You don't need resil when you can kill an opponent in 3 GCDs or so. Tib texted me something about blizz boosting the benefit from resil and I have to imagine this is to make pvp gear more attractive than pve gear, he also said something about blizz having an emergency pvp only fix for OP heals if this resil change causes healers to become unkillable. This got me thinking that, well, scaling really is out of control. How out of control? Tib and I play dual dps in the 2s at 1250-1300 rating these days, I run 21kish hp and 900ish resil, tib does a lot better. If I mis-gauge an arcane mage and call it frost instead (this has happened on my tired nights) I am usually dead in 3 seconds. To me that is a bit too much kill power. The scaling issue shows up in pve as well but blizz can scale up the boss encounters and implement other fixes to make up for it, in pvp it is just quite a bit more noticable.
So that said, I want to see kaes walk into WSG and smack a clothie, just for fun ^^

Tonight our mage in ICC was wearing his PVP set.
Our arcane mage, was buffed to 40k hp.
Maybe you didn't read that correctly.
40,000 HP
The same thing is happening PVE side, but probably not so bad or as noticeable. Chill of the throne? Bull crap. A straight 20% of my avoidance is taken away because we can't figure out how to make tank gear and bosses scale.
As crappy as the scaling is, I don't know how to make it right without arena premade gear sets. If it takes 5-6 globals for a single person to kill another, a healer could keep them up almost indefinitely, then you end up back in what I think S2 and S3 were like - drain teams and outlast matches. It is DEFINITELY hard to balance PVP - I really think the only way you could do it is have identicle gear sets, which is definitely no fun in such a... reward based game. In an FPS - everyone has equal gear - playstyle determines the winner. In PVP in wow, it's much more complicated. Idon't know how they could ever make it work with so many variables.
